Abbott Laboratories selects 1800MyLogo to
create logo January 7th, 2003 1-800-MyLogo, Inc. is contracted by Abbott Laboratories for a design of an annual convention logo. The audience of this convention is comprised of two groups - Abbotts employees, and suppliers with whom they interact in the procurement process of maintenance, repair and operational services. Founded by a young Chicago physician, Dr. Wallace Calvin Abbott, in 1888, Abbott Laboratories has evolved into a diversified health care company that discovers, develops, manufactures and markets innovative products and services that span the continuum of care from prevention and diagnosis to treatment and cure. Headquartered in north suburban Chicago, Abbott helps people around the world in more than 130 countries. For more than a century, Abbott Laboratories has been working to advance health care for people around the world. Building leadership and combining strengths in the areas of pharmaceuticals, nutritionals, hospital products and diagnostics has enabled Abbott to provide total, integrated solutions across the health care spectrum for some of the worlds most prevalent medical conditions, including AIDS, cancer and diabetes. Abbott focuses on advancing medical science and the practice of health care with expertise in the therapeutic areas of diabetes, pain management, respiratory infections, HIV/AIDS, men and womens health, pediatrics and animal health. The conventions mission is to motivate Abbotts key suppliers of equipment, materials and services to improve the added value of their offer to the company in exchange for a better commercial alliance with Abbott, according to the companys representative. The main theme of the convention will be the pursuit of creative solutions to enhance the companys competitive edge. After their usual round-table meeting and positive debates, the assigned graphic designers and project coordinators at 1-800-MyLogo, Inc. unanimously agreed that the logo design for the convention in question will portray ideas of unity, integrity, and solidarity. The unification of purpose and will between Abbott and its suppliers, as well as a relentless pursuit of discovering together new ways to do things better and more efficiently, will be depicted in a suggestive, sharp and futuristic logo design.
