National Association of
Women Writers selects
1800MyLogo to design organization identity
August 27th,
2002 The National Association of Women Writers (NAWW) selects
1-800-MyLogo, Inc. to design a logo for their organization. The NAWW was founded in 2001
and their mission is to support, encourage, inspire, motivate, entertain, and teach
women writers. Their national membership is open to all women writers regardless of
their portfolio.
To be a member of such an
organization is an excellent opportunity for women-writers. The association can help
members find work, review contracts, find agents and publishing outlets for their work,
benefit from networking, and express a voice in publishing. Another benefit women-writers
can have from being a part of such an organization is having access to industry-related
legal advice, such as copyright issues. Screenwriters, novelists, poets, work-from-home
mothers, columnists, freelancers and journalists are able to promote themselves by
belonging to this organization, sure to be of value to publishers, production companies,
editors, and businesses seeking writers.
The new trend in the job market,
telecommuting (work-from-home), has been perfectly captured in the NAWWs activities
and interests. Work-from-home mothers can publish their experiences as women-writers, can
write about their daily struggles to write, how they manage their time, or the importance
of writing in their lives.
The graphic designers at 1-800-MyLogo strongly feel that the National Association of Women
Writers came to the right place for creating their identity. Both parties belong to what
is called a community of creativity, and this will surely add a very
interesting flavor to the design process. The NAWWs representative describes the
association as a professional, successful and dynamic group of women and their
desired logo should look feminine and reflect their representative color
scheme. Thus, the talented and creative artists at 1-800-MyLogo will have to
integrate in the logo design aspects such as success, dynamism, professionalism, combined
with soft feminine feelings, inspired by the associations members and their field of
activity.
The National Association of Women Writers addresses to members from a large geographical
area. Thus, graphic designers and project coordinators at 1-800-MyLogo have to consider
the wide variety of talents to be expressed in a suggestive and creative logo design.
About National Association
of Women Writers
The National Association of Women Writers (NAWW) was founded in 2001 by Sheri' L.
McConnell, a writer, publisher, and management specialist/consultant. The National
Association of Women Writers was founded to support, encourage, teach, entertain, and
embrace all women writers, regardless of portfolio. As a writers' organization exclusively
for women, the NAWW has no publishing prerequisites because, as founder Sheri L. McConnell
says, "I wanted NAWW to be an association that provides a forum WHERE WOMEN can UNITE
TO WRITE-- where they could encourage, teach, motivate, and inspire each other. To
restrict those individuals who have not yet reached certain achievements seemed to defeat
the purpose of NAWW". Their members enjoy benefits such as: member portfolio
available online, lists of agents, critique services, quarterly writers guide, eligibility
for participation in the members publication page, online writers resources,
publisher information, and regional meetings.
